Intermediate Lead  (Lead II)

In this class, students continue building on the techniques learned in the Introduction to Lead class with a specific focus on improving lead cutting and soldering skills.  More tools are introduced including the Morton Workshop, the Beetle Bits Cutting System, and the Taurus Ring Saw.  Additionally, students will learn advanced design considerations including panel reinforcement and glass selection.  Students are expected to select the pattern for the main project of the class, subject to instructor approval. Note:  There will be some studio time required outside of class to complete the project).

Class meets one day a week for two hours for a total of six weeks.  Tuition:  $300, which includes use of all tools required to make the class project; purchase of supplies are required before class starts and you'll need to bring a few minor sundry items you most likely already have at your house.

Intermediate Copper Foil (Copper Foil II Panel)

Intermediate Copper Foil (Copper Foil II Mirror)

In this class, students continue building on the techniques learned in the Introduction to Copper Foil class with a specific focus on utilizing mirror glass and improving glass cutting and soldering skills.  More tools are introduced including the Morton Workshop, the Beetle Bits Cutting System, and the Taurus Ring Saw.  Additionally, students will learn advanced design considerations including panel reinforcement and glass selection.  Students are expected to select the pattern for the main project of the class, subject to instructor approval. (Note:  There will be some studio time required outside of class to complete the project).

Tiffany Lamp Class

In this class, students the skills they've acquired in earlier classes and use them to create a Tiffany-style lamp.  Building forms for lamps are introduced.  Students will learn advanced reinforcement techniques and glass selection relating to texture, grain and light sources.  Students are expected to select the pattern for the main project of the class, subject to instructor approval. (Note:  There will be significant studio time required outside of class to complete the project and you will need to have a grinder at home).

Class meets one day a week for two hours for a total of two weeks, then takes a month-long break to prepare their lamps for construction.  We then get back together for two more weeks, another week break and then a final two weeks.  Tuition:  $300, which includes instruction for the class.  Purchase of supplies are required before class starts with the coordination of the studio and you'll need to bring a few minor sundry items you most likely already have at your house.
